George W. Kern
Regional Director
Mr. Kern is Managing Director, Regional Director, and Senior Fiduciary Counsel at Bessemer Trust. In this role, he is responsible for Bessemer’s client relationships in Delaware, as well as the management of our Delaware office and the operation of the Bessemer Trust Company of Delaware. In addition, he works with clients and their advisors to develop practical and efficient wealth transfer plans involving Delaware law and guides the firm on fiduciary issues.
Prior to joining Bessemer in 2006, George served as Fiduciary Manager with J.P. Morgan Trust Company of Delaware. Before that, he was a practicing trusts and estates attorney in Delaware.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and a member of the Delaware State Bar Association, where he serves on its Trust Act Drafting Committee and previously served as Chair of its Estates and Trusts Section. George is a member of the Delaware Estate Planning Council, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and the Delaware Bankers Association. He frequently writes and speaks on tax, trust and estate planning, and fiduciary issues.
George earned a J.D. from the Delaware Law School of Widener University, an LL.M. in taxation from Villanova University School of Law, and a B.A. in international relations from Ursinus College.
