Edward N.W. Aw

Head of Quantitative Strategies

Dr. Aw is Managing Director and Head of Quantitative Strategies at Bessemer Trust. In this role, he is responsible for driving security selection, portfolio construction, and risk management. He is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and Investment Risk Committee.

Prior to joining Bessemer in 2004, Ed was a quantitative analyst at Deutsche Bank. Before that, he held analyst roles at Dreyfus, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley.

He is a member of the AFA, CFA Society New York, CQA, and SQA, where he serves on the executive committee. He is also a contributing author for the CFA Institute’s CIPM® Program and has co-authored research papers published in leading finance journals, including The Journal of Portfolio Management and The Journal of Investing. Ed is an adjunct professor at Fordham University and Hofstra University.

Ed earned a D.B.A. from Baruch College, an M.B.A. from Hofstra University, and a B.A. in economics from Stony Brook University. He is a CFA® charterholder.
