As the head of Bessemer Trust’s Washington, D.C. office, Mr. Poch oversees client account management and new business development in the Mid-Atlantic area. For the past 25 years, he has worked with families of affluence to understand their needs and advise them on a range of issues including investment management, capital markets, and estate planning.

Prior to joining Bessemer in 2010, Mr. Poch was most recently CEO and Vice Chairman of The Private Trust Company NA, a $60B trust company. Previously, he was Managing Director of Citigroup, where he founded and served as global head of Smith Barney’s Private Wealth Management (PWM). Over a five-year period, the PWM unit was recognized by Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, Institutional Investor, and Worth Magazine among others. He was the architect of the industry-acclaimed advanced private wealth management training recognized by Worth Magazine as the most challenging of its kind.

Mr. Poch received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University. He was designated a Certified Investment Management Analyst from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and holds multiple securities industry licenses. Mr. Poch was the first recipient of the Thomas H. Gorman award given by peers for lifetime contribution to the investment consulting industry.
